christie, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, marla. not sure if you can hear it in the background but there are truckloads of metal barricades being set up this morning by workers right near the bill graham civic auditorium in san francisco. workers starting to set them up as president obama's fund-raiser this evening is sold out. guests being told to arrive about four hours before he actually speaks this evening. we have video of one of his visits to the bay area in june. with the election just one month away, the race for cash showing no signs of slowing down. tickets started at about $100 all the way up to $7500. for that, though, you would at least get a photo with the president. this is the second part of a two-day swing through california, as mr. obama and his republican challenger, mitt romney, escalate their television ads in competitive states like ohio. just one event in los angeles the president was expected to raise $3.75 million after trailing mr. raomney in the cas

meetings. pg&e says it wants ratepayers to foot the bill for the nearly $5 billion in pipeline testing and upgrades as a result of the san bruno disaster. assemblyman jerry hill and the mayor of san bruno will hold a press conference demanding the cpuc hearings be open to the public. 5:03. oakland police are still trying to sort out a shocking discovery. a decomposing body was found yesterday afternoon inside a parked car near a recreation center. investigators say it was wrapped in a cloth and left there for some time. police have not identified the body and have yet to give any details on the cause of death. marla, san francisco police are still looking for a pair of car thieves who allegedly tried to run down a u.s. park officer. this happened saturday night at about s6:30 on lincoln boulevar in the presidio.

officers spotted one man breaking into a car. he then jumped into a car waiting nearby and his accomplice allegedly tried to run down that officer. fortunately he missed. the park officer did open fire. those men got away. they were last seen driving a light tan buick sedan. also in san francisco, a group of protesters arrested on saturday afternoon. they may be connected to last month's vandalism of a police station in the mission district. this cell phone video shows police in riot gear lined up to stop protesters near california and battery streets. protesters marched through the area saturday vandalizing cars and businesses. at least 20 people were arrested. last month a mission district police station was vandalized by demonstrators upset over a shooting that involved a police officer. police believe some of the protesters arrested this weekend are connected to that incident. well, it's a pretty good bet drivers will feel that pinch today, waking up to even higher gas prices after another price

jump that happened over the weekend. california now for the record has the highest average gas price in the entire nation at $4.66. that is 85 cents higher than the national average. now governor brown is taking emergency action, trying to ease that pressure on your wallet. bob redell is live in cupertino right now where five bucks a gallon unfortunately becoming very common out there. bob, good morning. what's going on with this, man? >> reporter: good morning, jon. i'm sure people wish it was $5 a gallon, you can see it's well over that at this 76 station in cupertino. what happened yesterday is the governor, jerry brown, of california directed the california air resources board to allow the immediate production of the cheaper winter blend of gas. now, this should immediately increase the supply of gasoline and in theory lower these prices that in recent days have skyrocketed. now, of course what you're looking at here, $5.39 for a gallon of gas, that is an
